Liverpool have signed plenty of top players this summer and they will be hoping all of them can hit the ground running.
The Reds have largely been tipped as having the best transfer window so far, and many fans would hope so after spending close to £300m.
They have strengthened in all areas of the pitch, although plenty of work still needs to be done due to the frailties the Reds showed during their opening game of the season.
However, some new signings did better than others and Ian Wright was impressed with Hugo Ekitike in particular, with the former Arsenal striker backing him to be a real hit on Merseyside this season.
There is certainly a lot of pressure on Liverpool’s new stars, with the money they came in for having the potential to cause them some real problems.
Florian Wirtz, arguably, has the most pressure due to the Reds paying a British record transfer fee for him, but his fellow ex-Bundesliga star Ekitike will also have a lot of eyes on him.
Liverpool supporters will be hoping that he can finally be the striker that regularly scores goals for them, and after impressing against Bournemouth, Wright thinks that this must just be the case.
“You know why I’ll go with a hit?
Just the way he took his chances the other day and if he can get that going… well,” Wright said on The Overlap when asked if Ekitike will be a hit or miss this season.

“I think he’ll be a hit simply because Liverpool will create the chances and, if he’s going to finish like that… then I’m going to go with ‘hit’ for Hugo Ekitike.”
Liverpool fans were left in awe of his performances on the opening day and they will be hoping he can continue this form, although a trip against Newcastle next will be the first real test.
Being a striker often requires just being capable of putting the ball in the back of the net, but that simply is not enough at Liverpool.
The Reds require them to drop deep, link-up play and work hard for the team – all things Ekitike did well against Bournemouth.
In theory, they want a Roberto Firmino regen who will score quite a few more goals, with the Frenchman certainly having the potential.
He has fitted in well thus far but Newcastle will be a very tough test, especially as the Magpies desperately wanted the 23-year-old before Liverpool came calling.
Combine this with the Alexander Isak saga and Monday night’s game will be one of the best games to watch all season, for a neutral at least.
