Liverpool are building a team to last, but some sacrifices are going to have to be made in order to achieve this.
However, this is just the beginning under Arne Slot and Liverpool are building for the future, proven by demolishing the British transfer record for Florian Wirtz who is still only 22.
Outgoings are expected to be able to fund this, although the Reds won’t just give their players away for nothing, with Liverpool placing a £100m price tag on Luis Diaz as he edges towards an Anfield departure.
Many others are likely to leave, but there is one in particular who many expect to move on, with it looking like Liverpool are ready to cut their losses on a player who never lived up to expectations.

Costing Liverpool an initial fee of £64m, Darwin Nunez looked set to come to the Premier League and take it by storm, although this is still yet to happen.
Although loved by fans for his work rate and tenacious attitude, the Uruguayan has missed too many chances throughout his three seasons at the club and failed to capitalise on the opportunities he was given.

And now, according to James Pearce on The Athletic Podcast, Nunez looks certain to leave and Liverpool are more than willing to let this happen.
“I think Darwin Nunez is probably the most nailed on to leave because that just hasn’t worked out.” Pearce said.
“I think a parting of the ways looks like the best option for all parties.
Liverpool turned down interest from the Saudi Pro League in January, but they certainly wouldn’t turn it down again if the right offer was on the table.”
A big refresh is expected to occur at Anfield this summer and Nunez will not be the only player to go, although he appears to be the one closest to the exit door at this point in time.
Young centre-back Jarell Quansah is another player who could go this summer, with the Englishman having interest from the Premier League and Bundesliga.
Quansah could have been used in a swap deal for Wirtz but rumours of that have died down, with Pearce also confirming that the Reds might cash in if the right offer arrives.
“Liverpool don’t want to sell Quansah, but of course there would be a level at which they would do,” Pearce revealed.
“There’ll be a premium on him because there’s a dearth of really talented young English centre-backs.”
Around £25m is a fee that the Reds might expect for the young defender and it remains a strong possibility that he departs, especially given that Jorrel Hato remains linked to Liverpool as a potential replacement.
