I think Liverpool could be looking at least four or five new players coming in and I would love to see them be aggressive and proactive when it comes to securing what is needed to kickstart the next stage of the evolution under Arne Slot.

Look, there is a glaring need for a brand new centre-forward and I think that has to be the major priority heading into this window.

And they won't be the only club on the lookout for a top striker, with Arsenal almost certainly in the market themselves for someone to get them over the line.

So if both clubs are shopping in the same market then those who make the key decisions over recruitment need to be coiled to move sharply?

Federico Chiesa might be a fantastic addition for someone but I don't think his future is going to be at Liverpool.

The Italian has come in as something of a stop-gap signing but he is still awaiting his first league start and wasn't even in the squad for the Arsenal game.

I am also interested to see how the likes Ben Doak and Rio Ngumoha kick on from next season too

But they need a centre-forward and that has been more and more apparent as the season has gone on.

Luis Diaz has done really well at times filling in but it has been obvious at other periods that he is a left-winger playing out of position to help the team

Down the other end, Conor Bradley is poised to step into the void that Trent Alexander-Arnold will leave and I do wonder what the plan might be to replace the vice captain's creativity.

Joe Gomez has been a brilliant servant but injuries have caught up to him, so does Slot seek out a more senior right-back to challenge Bradley or look to use others in the position if the Northern Ireland international is ever sidelined

It's a tricky one to get right.

However you view it, there will be a fair bit of turnover in the window and Liverpool have a massive summer ahead of them
