Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott was one of the stars of the show today as he fired in a rocket to put the seal on a fine win.
Elliott’s stunner from the edge of the box was just what he deserved for another fine performance in midfield for the Reds.
The Englishman has made a number of starts in recent weeks as the season draws to a conclusion and his goal today was justification for Jurgen Klopp sticking by his man.
Of course, hitting a strike like Elliott did today takes plenty of technique and practice.
And often, we see them fly into the stands instead of the top corner.
And speaking about his goal after the game, Elliott did concede that he thought he’d actually missed when he looked up.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Elliott admitted he had a bit of a bad feeling about his strike when he initially glanced up.
“There was motivation to go out there and put it right.
I thought it was going over to be honest [his goal].
It’s about time I scored a goal, I think I’ve hit the bar and the post in the last few games,” Elliott said.

With Jurgen Klopp leaving, there is a real chance for some of these Liverpool players to put themselves in favour with the incoming Arne Slot.
Harvey Elliott, based on the last few weeks at least, looks very much like he’s trying to make an impression on the incoming new manager.
His goal today capped off another fine performance overall.
Going into next season, and still just at 21, Elliott has a big chance to go and show the new manager that Liverpool don’t need to delve into the transfer market too much.
A good pre-season, coupled with this fine finish to the campaign, could well see Elliott firmly on favour when Slot does eventually arrive.
