Didier Drogba has urged Mohamed Salah to leave Liverpool and return to former club Chelsea as talks continue regarding a new contract at Anfield.

Salah left Chelsea on a permanent basis in 2016 to sign for AS Roma and has since gone on to establish himself as one of Europe's most talented players.

“If I am selfish, I will tell Salah to leave Liverpool and return to Chelsea," he joked when speaking on Al-Axis TV.

Salah spent half of the 2014/15 season with Drogba at Chelsea, before leaving the Londoners on loan in the January of that campaign to join Fiorentina.

Sharing his thoughts on the situation of the 29-year-old, Drogba has admitted he would love to see the Reds' star man return to Stamford Bridge.

Drogba has since witnessed the rapid development of his former team-mate and is concerned that all of his records in the game will be broken by the Reds' No.11.
