Former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen says that Liverpool boss Arne Slot reminds him of Sir Alex Ferguson.
“I wouldn't compare Jose Mourinho with Sir Alex Ferguson in any shape or form" said Meulensteen.
Meulensteen says Slot focuses on the club rather than himself.
Meulensteen, who claimed four league titles as part of Ferguson’s coaching staff at United, predicted Slot to be a success in England before the start of his first season in charge of the Reds, where the Dutchman's side subsequently went on to win the Premier League
Comparing him to previous Red Devils boss Erik Ten Hag back in November, Meulensteen told Tribal Football : "I predicted that Slot could hit the ground running at Liverpool, partly because he has a completely different character to Erik ten Hag at Manchester United
He is a great communicator with a clear vision and knew what he wanted to take with him from Feyenoord."
