Arne Slot has been a revelation at Liverpool ever since he walked through the door.

There was a lot of uncertainty around the Reds when Jurgen Klopp suddenly announced his departure from the club in 2024, with most worried about the direction the club would go in.

However, Slot came in and their worries almost instantly disappeared, with the Dutchman becoming an instant hit at Anfield.

His Liverpool side romped to the Premier League title and were unlucky not to pick up another piece of silverware, although they are strong favourites to do just that this season.

Both managers are very different in their own right, but Liverpool chairman Tom Werner believes there is something Slot does that is seriously ‘under-appreciated’ by the fans.

There is no denying that Klopp is a legendary manager for the Reds, but it may not take long for Slot to surpass his achievements.

He has a slightly different way of going about things, with his controlled, but still attacking, style of play being something that will relax fans a little more.

But there is another thing that Werner thinks makes Slot stand out, and Reds fans may not even realise just how effective it is.

“One thing I would say about Arne, and this is no disrespect to Jurgen, is that we have made a lot of tactical improvements in the second half,” Werner said on The Overlap US.

“I think his management of the team has been outstanding and when you think about it, these players are mostly playing twice a week, sometimes three times a week, and that management is under-appreciated by the fans.

“All the players we have signed too are 25 years or younger as well, so I think Arne is a great teacher.

“Even though he has some of the best talent in the world, I think they listen to him and appreciate the education they are getting to become better football players.

Despite taking the league by storm in his first season, and starting the new campaign off in perfect fashion, Slot is still yet to be offered a new deal.

Journalist David Lynch offered an update on the situation, but even he has heard no news of an extension, although this should not be too much of a worry.

The Dutchman still has another year left on his deal and talks will surely start soon if he carries on, but if one thing is for sure, it is that he has earned the right to a pay rise.

If the Reds win the Premier League again and maybe even another trophy too, he can expect a big bonus on top of that, but it is clear to see that he is appreciated right from the top down.
