Federico Chiesa has said he “wouldn’t mind” staying at Liverpool this summer as speculation around his future continues to swirl.
The Italian has struggled for minutes since his £10 million ($12 million) transfer to Anfield last summer, starting just four matches all season, and only one in the Premier League.
His woeful campaign has seen Chiesa, once a star name in the Italian national side, fall out of the team altogether, and he could fall even further down the pecking order if Florian Wirtz moves to Merseyside.
During an interview earlier this week, Chiesa failed to rule out a move back to Serie A and admitted that regaining his place in the Italy squad for next summer’s World Cup was of paramount importance.
