Ian Wright has shared his response to the latest update shared by Arsenal star Myles Lewis-Skelly.

The left back was an unused substitute when Arsenal were beaten 1-0 by Liverpool in their last Premier League game on Sunday, 31 August.

Lewis-Skelly is yet to be handed a start by Mikel Arteta this season, having established himself as a key player last term.

Amid the Gunners’ inconsistent start to the new top-flight season, Arteta has been warned he could be sacked if he doesn’t win the Premier League.

However, Lewis-Skelly remained upbeat in his latest Instagram post on Thursday, 4 September, as he posed in a black Arsenal shirt alongside the caption: “Yup.”

Gunners legend Wright shared his appreciation by commenting with three red heart emojis.

Lewis-Skelly proved his class in his breakout season for Arsenal last term, helping the North Londoners reach the Champions League semi-finals as he made 39 appearances across all competitions.

However, fellow left back Riccardo Calafiori has been one of Arteta’s standout performers this term and scored when Arsenal beat Manchester United 1-0 on the Premier League’s opening weekend.

After scoring against the Red Devils, thanks to Altay Bayindir’s goalkeeping error, Calafiori went on to notch two assists as the North London club hammered Leeds United 5-0 on 23 August.

With the Italy international performing well defensively as well as regularly producing attacking contributions, Lewis-Skelly may have to wait a little longer before being named in Arteta’s starting 11.

The teenager will hope that the beginning of Arsenal’s Champions League campaign this month, as well as their Carabao Cup clash with League One club Port Vale, will see Arteta rotate his squad.
