Liverpool players were quick to react to Virgil van Dijk’s latest message after he was recognised for his outstanding performances in the 2024/25 season.
Liverpool captain Van Dijk lifted the Premier League trophy following a dominant campaign under Arne Slot in his debut season last term.
The Reds finished the season 10 points clear at the top, with the Dutchman forming a formidable partnership with Ibrahima Konate as the side recorded a league-high 14 clean sheets.
It had been a season filled with speculation over his future, with his contract entering its final months.
However, he silenced the rumours when Van Dijk signed a new deal, committing his future to Liverpool.
Following his commanding performances last term, Van Dijk has now been awarded for his contributions, further cementing his status as one of the Premier League’s most influential defenders.

His post drew plenty of reaction from his teammates, with Cody Gakpo and Gravenberch sharing applause and heart emojis, while Konate and Mac Allister showed their support with likes.
Van Dijk was a key figure in Liverpool’s title-winning campaign, making 49 appearances across all competitions and playing an impressive 4,437 minutes.
The 2024/25 season also marked a personal milestone for the defender, as Van Dijk passed 300 Premier League appearances and added a second league title to his career achievements.

While Van Dijk has maintained his commanding presence at the back, the Reds are still looking to strengthen their defence, with Ibrahima Konate’s future remaining unclear.
Football Insider revealed Liverpool and Crystal Palace re-open talks over Marc Guehi, with the Eagles holding firm on a £40million valuation.
Liverpool are reportedly keen to negotiate a lower fee, especially as Guehi has expressed his desire to move to Anfield and has less than a year left on his contract.
