The Reds look set for a serious revamp as they aim to win back-to-back Premier League titles.

Liverpool’s pre-season is set to get underway in just over a month’s time when they face Preston North End before jetting off to Asia to begin their tour.

Between now and then, Arne Slot will be aiming to have a full-strength squad to be able to decide what his strongest team will be ahead of the new season.

Of course, incomings will happen which will cause outgoings to occur, but he will be hoping he can keep as many of his stars as possible.

Defender Ibrahima Konate is one of these players he hopes will stick around a little while longer, but with the Frenchman still yet to sign a new contract, worries will start to set in.

However, with one year left on his deal, Konate has been showing promising signs that he might sign a new contract, and he may have just hinted that he will be doing just that this summer.

Liverpool will be hoping that they don’t suffer the same fate as they did with losing Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer, with Konate also wanted by the right-back’s new club.

However, if the Reds were worried about him running down his contract, they would likely be willing to cash in on him this summer, and with Konate posting on his Instagram that he’ll see the fans next season, they must be pretty confident he’ll sign a new deal.

“What a season!

You’ve been amazing from start to finish,” the defender wrote on his social media.

“It’s been a great season for me and for the club, so many special moments, and of course winning our 20th Premier League title… unforgettable!

“Now it’s time to rest, enjoy the holidays, and come back even stronger (and you the fans because we’ll need your energy and voice as well).

Next season, we go again!”

Granted, there is a possibility he still leaves on a free transfer, but behind-the-scenes Konate has shown signs of encouragement and does not seem to be pushing for a move away.

As any good club would, Liverpool already have a contingency plan in place if the Frenchman does depart, with the Reds already assessing their options.

Jorrel Hato is heavily linked with Liverpool, although they face stiff competition from Arsenal and Chelsea, but the Dutch connection may benefit Slot’s side.

Sporting CP’s Ousmane Diomande is also a target and he would cost around £50m, a similar price to what Ajax want for Hato.

The future of Liverpool’s defence is certainly uncertain as Jarrel Quansah could depart this summer, but you would imagine the hierarchy are pretty confident that Konate will sign a new deal at the club, with the player himself dropping another subtle hint.
