Ibrahima Konate cheekily reminded Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz about Liverpool's ruthless victory over Bayer Leverkusen last season.

Frimpong, 24, was the first to join the Reds this summer, arriving for £29.5million from Leverkusen.

His transfer was followed by Wirtz, whose £116m move broke the Premier League transfer record.



During filming, Konate popped in to hand over bottles of water.

On his way out, the Frenchman could not resist having a cheeky jibe at the duo, reminding them of the Reds' 4-0 victory over them in the Champions League when they were at Leverkusen.

On Liverpool's official YouTube channel, Konate asked Frimpong: "Did they ask you, 'How was the 4-0 at Anfield?'" Frimpong shot back: "My friend.

Of course, Konate was only joking with the duo when he brought up the result.

Wirtz, Konate and Frimpong all featured in Liverpool's recent pre-season defeat to AC Milan.

Their Premier League campaign begins with a home game against Bournemouth on Friday, August 15, followed by an away game at St James' Park against Newcastle United.

The latter match could be particularly heated, as the Reds are still actively pursuing Newcastle's star player Alexander Isak.
