Liverpool supporters are still on a high after seeing their team lift the Premier League trophy in May.
The Reds swept all before them to be crowned as champions of England for the 20th time.
For the fans, that was the curtain call on a sensational first season at Anfield for Arne Slot.
With the European domestic campaign ending with the Champions League final on Saturday, international matches are now taking place all over the world.
Many of the Liverpool squad are involved, with Ibrahima Konate one of those called up.
As a regular in Didier Deschamps’ squad, Konate attended a press conference with his manager ahead of Thursday’s UEFA Nations League semi-final with Spain.
But as Konate covered a variety of topics put to him by French reporters, Liverpool fans were soon left divided over some of his comments.

Konate has been in the news recently as he continues to hesitate over signing a new contract with Liverpool.
The centre-back’s deal is up in 2026 and discussions are becoming slightly fraught over an extension.
This time, though, it was not comments over his future which upset Liverpool fans, but those relating to who will win this year’s Ballon d’Or.

“Dembele has had an exceptional season, I have no words!
Ousmane Dembele deserves the Ballon d’Or!” Konate said, with fans disappointed at a perceived lack of support for Mohamed Salah.
“Salah won you your 1st league title and this is not how you should pay him Ibou,” said one supporter, adding a broken heart emoji.

“I don’t mind that he chooses Dembele, but to not even mention Salah with the season he has was absolutely shocking he literally ignored him and mentioned Mbappe with zero trophies!!?” added another.
“This man knew what he was doing when he let Dembouz [Dembele] score against Liverpool,” someone else weighed in, with another claiming Konate was ‘assisting Dembele on and off the pitch.’
“If it weren’t for HIS mistake we would have knocked them out of the Champions League,” one more fan argued.
Not everyone was upset, though, with some pointing out that Konate had the right to choose whichever teammate he preferred.
“The guy won a treble and his numbers speak for themselves unreal season by Dembele.
Can’t argue with Dembele deserving it.”
Konate is not the only person to come out and publicly support Dembele in his Ballon d’Or campaign.

Champions League
PSG manager Luis Enrique backed Dembele in the immediate aftermath of the Champions League final as well.
On paper, few could argue too much if the 28-year-old were to win the most prestigious individual award in world football.
Having scored 33 goals and provided 13 assists on the way to PSG winning the treble this season, he would indeed be a worthy winner.
In actuality, Salah has perhaps hit greater heights on an individual level, but as some supporters pointed out to Konate, Liverpool’s exit to PSG in the Champions League probably killed his cause.
