Ibrahima Konate has been capturing plenty of headlines due to his contract situation this summer.

Marca reported this Thursday morning that Liverpool are set to table a crucial new contract offer to Konate in the coming days – and could place the French centre-back on the transfer list this summer if he turns it down.

According to the Spanish outlet, the situation would “change radically” if Konate rejects the proposal.

The Reds’ hierarchy are determined to avoid losing the 26-year-old for nothing when his deal runs out in 2026 and are applying strong pressure for him to commit to Anfield.

Their push is fuelled by a belief that the defender is already in talks with Real Madrid over a possible move.

And while the Frenchman has signed a new deal, it’s not the big news that Reds fans were waiting for.

Sportswear giants Under Armour have officially announced that Ibrahima Konate has signed as their latest global ambassador.

The Liverpool defender is set to be one of the faces of Under Armour’s striking new football campaign, ‘Be The Problem’, which will roll out in the UK, France and Spain from August 15.

Aimed at inspiring the next generation of footballers ahead of the new season, the initiative turns the negative idea of being “a problem” into a badge of honour  – a source of strength and identity.

For Under Armour, it’s about showing how players like Konate use that mindset to prepare, perform and dominate on the pitch.

Speaking on the new deal, the 26-year-old said:

“I’m proud to be representing Under Armour, a brand with a history deeply rooted in performance and innovation, that shares the same drive, mentality and values as me.”

“I am a big fan of the edge they are bringing in football and I look forward to taking my career to the next level with them, both on and off the pitch.”

Kevin Ross, Managing Director at Under Armour EMEA, said:

“Welcoming Ibrahima to Under Armour marks another powerful step forward for the brand?

His toughness and leadership on the pitch paired with his great sense of style and outspoken personality off the pitch make him the perfect partner in our focus markets of France and the UK, as we look to deepen our impact in football and sportswear across EMEA.”
