Fulham’s owners run the risk of losing Marco Silva after frustrating supporters with a lack of ambition during the summer transfer window.
The Cottagers have done very little business over the last few weeks, only adding Benjamin Lecomte to the first-team squad, as well as handing a starting spot to 18-year-old Joshua King.
Supporters have been extremely disappointed by the lack of signings, especially with talented striker Rodrigo Muniz being constantly linked with a Fulham exit ahead of 1 September.
Silva’s previous clubs, Hull City, Watford, and Everton, would not be surprised to see him move on, especially after being considered as a potential Ange Postecoglou replacement at Tottenham.

The Cottagers finished 11th in the Premier League table last term, but since winning promotion back from the Championship, they have finished no higher than 10th, and Paul Merson believes a lack of progression could spell bad news for the club when it comes to Silva.
Speaking live on Sky Sports (16 August, 5:39pm), Merson said: “I would say so [they’ll need some signings] if they want to be competitive.
If they want to hang around 12th, 13th, 14th, then stay with the team they’ve got.
“If they want to push up to the top 10… How much do you spend to get another couple of places?
Not too much with how much you have to pay.

“I think they’ll be solid… [but] I don’t see them buying too many players, if I’m honest, but I don’t see a problem with them getting relegated at all.”

After being asked by Simon Thomas if the manager will be hungry enough to stay, Merson continued: “I don’t see them getting 54 points [again], not with the squad they’ve got, I don’t see that at all…
“Only time will tell.
I think if another job comes up in time, but he is managing in the Premier League, and there ain’t too many managers around the world who don’t want to manage in the Premier League.
“He’s got a solid job there, not going to get relegated, not going to get in the top six.”
Football Insider verdict
The Cottagers have kicked off their 2025/26 season with a last-gasp 1-1 draw with Brighton on Saturday, 16 August, with the goal coming from exit-linked striker Muniz in the sixth minute of added time.
The Seagulls will feel massively hard done by, having dictated play at the Amex Stadium, and without the individual brilliance of Muniz, all three points would have stayed on the coast.
Mick Brown told Football Insider that Fulham are closing in on a move for Reiss Nelson, but links have since run cold, and just his arrival would be a huge disappointment.
Mick Brown also told Football Insider that Raheem Sterling wants to join Fulham, viewing Craven Cottage as his preferred destination, and that would be an ideal move at a reasonable price.
Of course, it seems highly unlikely that the Cottagers will make these moves before the window closes, and if that is the case, there is every chance that Silva sees his future elsewhere.
That would be a crushing blow as the 2025/26 campaign gets underway, and it remains to be seen who will fill that role at Craven Cottage.
