Nottingham Forest are closing in on an agreement to sign Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz after a fresh round of talks with Juventus.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 27-year-old is keen to make the move to the City Ground.
Juventus have been keen to sell the Brazilian this summer after tasking his agent with finding a move, and his most likely destination is now becoming clear.
Brown first told Football Insider in March that Nottingham Forest scouts have been watching Luiz and the club had begun doing the groundwork to complete a deal.

West Ham, Everton, Man United and Leeds have also considered moves throughout at the summer transfer window, but Forest look to have reached a breakthrough.
Football Insider revealed in July that Juventus want to sell Luiz permanently, with any loan agreement set to include an option or obligation to buy, which rivals were unwilling to do.
This article contains exclusive comment from Mick Brown, a football transfer expert and former chief scout for Man United and Sunderland among others.

Brown told Football Insider in June that Luiz wants to return to the Premier League as his agent had been holding talks over a number of potential destinations.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted that Forest believe he will strengthen their squad despite concerns about his style of play.
“Juventus have been trying to get rid of Douglas Luiz,” he told Football Insider.
“Forest have been looking at him and from what I hear they’re close to that move.
“They’ve been speaking to Juventus for a while, so he’s obviously somebody they believe will strengthen their squad and help them to improve.
“It hasn’t worked for him over in Italy so he wanted to come back to England, I think we mentioned before his agent has been working on that one.

“I know what he can do, on a given day he can be outstanding, he’s got excellent technique, he can find cross-field balls and change the direction of play.
“But the issue, for me at least, is that the game can pass him by.
“If things are going against him, he’s not a fighter who’s going to put challenges in and win the ball back and help to win that midfield battle.
“Real top-class players don’t allow that to happen, but that’s my concern about him.
“Forest, I know, have been keeping an eye on him and they’ll know all about him.
“Whether they share my concerns or not, they obviously think the quality that he’s got will make a difference to their team if they get people around him.
“If they have the players to allow him to be more of a luxury player, then they could make it work.”
Alongside Luiz, Forest are also closing in on an agreement to sign Ipswich Town star Omari Hutchinson as they step up their transfer plans.
Brown told Football Insider that Ipswich planned to accept offers for Hutchinson with an initial £40million price tag placed during the ongoing negotiations.

Since then, an agreement has been reached between the two clubs worth around £37.5million for him to jump back up to the Premier League.
Football Insider revealed on 6 July that Hutchinson “would love” to return to the Premier League amid interest from a number of clubs including Everton.
