Newcastle defender Fabian Schar posted a emotional message to supporters, in a injury update following his clash Barcelona.
Newcastle lost against Barcelona in their first fixture of the Champions League since returning to the competition.
Marcus Rashford shone for Hansi Flick’s side, first getting in front of Schar to head home the opener before adding a second with a superb strike from distance.
However, their problems worsened when Schar received treatment for a head injury, and was later subbed off after trying to carry on.
Malick Thiaw had impressed when he came on the pitch and replaced the defender, and he may step in for a longer run in the side after Schar’s latest update.
Schar was forced off for Newcastle against Barcelona.
Schar posted on social media to address supporters following the loss and provided an update on his fitness.
He shared multiple photos on Instagram of the match, whilst confirming he will miss the next few fixtures.
Worflags, unbelievable as always”.

Schar’s post drew support from a host of current and former Newcastle players, including Alan Shearer, Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton, who all liked the message.
This is not the first time the defender has faced a head injury, as former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett criticised the decision to allow Schar to continue against Liverpool earlier in the season.
He has been an important player for Howe this term, starting in every game so far for the Magpies.
Schar signed a new contract with Newcastle in April as he approached the final months of his previous deal, and despite his age at 33, he continues to deliver.

With Schar now facing a few games on the sidelines, it presents an opportunity for other members of the squad.
Sven Botman returned to fitness for the Barcelona tie but didn’t start, while Thiaw caught the eye in his short cameo.
Newcastle spent around £35 million on Thiaw this summer, but he is still waiting for his first start.
