Man City supporters were quick to share their reacation after a fresh update emerged on PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The club’s goalkeeping department has undergone significant change this summer, with two new arrivals at Man City and continued uncertainty over their current options.

Marcus Bettinelli and James Trafford have both joined Man City, while long-serving backup Scott Carson departed earlier in the window.

Ederson’s future has been a particular talking point, with the Brazilian linked with a move away for much of the summer.

Galatasaray held talks with Ederson last month, and reports claim they have the money to complete a deal.

Despite spending £27 million on Trafford and beating Newcastle to his signature, City now appear to be considering further reinforcements between the sticks amid the ongoing uncertainty over Ederson’s future.

Football Insider revealed on 12 August that Man City have entered the race to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma after making a move behind the scenes.

Donnarumma has just one year remaining on his PSG contract and is considered surplus to requirements in the French capital after failing to commit to a new deal.

Despite his standout performances in the Champions League last season, PSG have signed Lucas Chevalier, who is expected to be the club’s first-choice goalkeeper for the upcoming campaign.

While Pep Guardiola’s side are interested, Man City would need to meet Donnarumma’s wage demands which are reported to be in excess of £400,000 per week to tempt him to the Etihad.

The former AC Milan shot-stopper has been at PSG since 2021, playing under multiple managers, but despite last season’s success under Luis Enrique, he now appears to be heading for the exit.

Earlier this summer, reports suggested Ederson was open to leaving Man City, prompting some fans to call for his sale.

Now, the Donnarumma situation at PSG seems to have arrived at an ideal time for the club, with many supporters urging the board to act quickly to secure his signature.

One fan reacted to the news by saying: “I’m literally in tears.
