Former Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant admits he is concerned expected new manager Arne Slot will fall into the same pitfalls as Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag.
Slot, who has managed exclusively in the Netherlands to this point, is primed to replace Jurgen Klopp at Anfield next season.
The German head coach announced his departure at the beginning of this year after losing energy for the role.
Upon his arrival in the Premier League, Slot may resume a rivalry with United's manager, Erik ten Hag.
The pair crossed paths in the Eredivisie when the latter managed Ajax.

However, Ten Hag's future at Old Trafford is uncertain after a poor second season in England.
"I’m a little bit nervous about Arne Slot," he explained.
"Now he’s going to get the sack at Manchester United, who have been nowhere near where they should be.
I don’t see a decline at Liverpool like the one David Moyes had with Manchester United.
"Nobody thought Liverpool would be where they are after the season they had last season, new signings have gelled in quickly.
