On the face of things, it seems evident that Liverpool do not want to sell the attacker due to his importance to their first-team squad.
But, seeing as though Diaz’s contract is set to expire in the next couple of years, a decision will have to be made soon, otherwise they could lose the Colombia international on a free transfer.
Not that they won’t do it, but he’s got two years left, and because he’s 28, it looks like, well, we’ll just see how things go.
“Whether that involves Saudi Arabia coming in with a bid for £85 billion, then you go, hmm.”
Seeing as though Diaz still has two years left on his deal with Liverpool, the Colombia international still has a decent chunk of value to his name.
Recent reports have rated Diaz at around £72million, which seems like a solid deal, especially considering that he’s now 28 years old.
If Liverpool do want to keep the attacker around for the next couple of seasons, they should at least extend his stay by a further year so that he will still have some value when they eventually want to get rid of him.
