Alan Myers has shared the latest updates on transfer rumours surrounding Nathan Ake and Tyler Dibling at Everton.

Having opened their 2025/26 Premier League campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Leeds United, it is clear that David Moyes could still do with a couple more signings before the summer transfer window slams shut.

Jack Grealish is the latest arrival at Everton, alongside notable players Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Adam Aznou, Thierno Barry, and Carlos Alcaraz, with The Friedkin Group happy to splash the cash.

Football Insider revealed earlier this month that Everton remained interested in Southampton’s Dibling, and Ake has now emerged as a potential target for the Toffees.

Supporters have been sceptical about some of the rumours circling the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with club insider Myers now sharing his understanding of both situations this summer.

Taking to X (21 August), Myers wrote: “I’m told nothing is happening with Ake, while Dibling remains the same as was before – Everton have left their offer on the table.

“It is up to Southampton what they accept and from whom.

I expected something this week, but it seems all quiet,” with supporters now suggesting that the Ake news was an attempt to reveal a mole in the club.

Football Insider verdict

Despite a plethora of signings, the Toffees appear to be light in several areas, and Football Insider understands that Nottingham Forest have now joined Everton in the race for Kellen Fisher.

With Jarrad Branthwaite sidelined once again, joining Seamus Coleman and Nathan Patterson on the treatment table, full-back is a tricky position for yet another campaign.

Alcaraz’s arrival is key to supporting Dwight McNeil, James Garner, and even Harrison Armstrong if he’s given a chance by Moyes, but scoring goals looks to be a struggle for the Toffees still.

The Toffees barely created anything against Leeds, with Beto starting the game alongside Iliman Ndiaye, and Grealish and Barry coming on as late substitutes.

It remains to be seen who the main creator is going to be moving forward, so it would be a very sensible idea to attempt another bid to bring Dibling to Merseyside.

While he only notched four goals and two assists in the Premier League last season, the 19-year-old is extremely talented, hence why a number of clubs are keeping tabs on his current situation.
