Dominik Szoboszlai remained tight-lipped when asked for an update on Milos Kerkez’s move to Liverpool.
The ECHO reported on Thursday that the Reds remain confident of striking a deal for the Hungary international as talks with Bournemouth continue over the £45m-rated defender.
As previously reported by the ECHO, Liverpool are keen to sign a left-back this summer in a bid to find a long-term successor for Andy Robertson, who has now emerged as a shock leading transfer target for Atletico Madrid.
The 31-year-old admitted earlier this week that he was uncertain what the future holds for him at Anfield.
Kerkez and Szoboszlai are known to be close away from football, but the midfielder gave very little away when asked about his international team-mate joining him at Anfield.

“I don't know about him...for now,” he told Nemzeti Sport when asked for an update on the transfer.
However, one transfer that Szoboszlai did know about before it became public knowledge was Liverpool’s move for Armin Pecsi.
The young goalkeeper joined the Reds from Puskas Akademia earlier this month after he made 30 appearances in the Hungarian top-flight last season.

The 20-year-old is a Hungary Under-21 international and was a nominee for the 2025 Golden Boy award.
Asked when he knew the transfer was happening, Szoboszlai replied: “A little earlier than you, based on inside information.
Hard work will pay off in time.”
Valencia keeper Giorgi Mamardashvili also joins the club in July, while Liverpool have also completed the signing of Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
And on Friday it was revealed that the Reds have struck a record deal with Bayer Leverkusen for Florian Wirtz.

As previously reported by the ECHO, Liverpool will pay £116m for the 22-year-old in a deal that smashes the club’s current transfer record.
The Reds had two bids rejected, the last one of £113m, which would have seen £100m paid up front with performance-related add-ons, but have finally got the deal over the line.
