Man United are ruling out the possibility of keeping Jadon Sancho despite struggling to find an adequate destination, according to their former chief scout.

Mick Brown, who worked at Old Trafford for over a decade during the club’s most successful period and remains very well-connected there, exclusively told Football Insider that United are confident the 25-year-old will finalise a move before the deadline.

A number of clubs are believed to have made contact with the winger’s agent, who is now waiting for new offers after reportedly snubbing interest from Roma.

Last summer, Football Insider revealed Man United were prepared to sell Sancho permanently and take a “huge loss” on his exit, but could not find a buyer.

They have faced a similar situation this summer despite interest from a number of clubs across Europe, but they have been unable to agree terms with the winger.

As a result, Brown told Football Insider in June that Sancho’s most likely destination is Saudi Arabia as clubs in Europe will struggle to meet his wage demands.

Brown told Football Insider in June that Sancho must slash his wage demands to secure a move away before the end of the transfer window.

The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment and also worked for the likes of Tottenham, Aston Villa and West Ham, insisted that the winger will be forced to agree a move away before the window closes.

“This whole Jadon Sancho saga needs to be resolved,” he told Football Insider.

“It’s in the interest of both the player and the club to get something sorted out.

“I don’t think Man United have handled things well, but I don’t think he or his agent have done themselves any favours either.

“They’ve been in negotiations with a few clubs, but they can’t seem to reach an agreement.

“If it’s not on the club’s side, it’s on their side, they just don’t seem to be able to agree.

“They need to understand they’re not really in the driving seat to be able to dictate to these clubs to pay his massive wages, because he’s not going to play.

“If he doesn’t find a move, he’ll be sat on the sidelines for another year, and then it makes the situation even more difficult come next summer.

“If he wants to sit around and count his money, that’s up to him, but I don’t think that’s the case.

“From what I’m told, United are confident they will be able to find a buyer for him and agree a transfer, and he will move soon, before the window closes.

“As far as they’re concerned, keeping him around is not a possibility.

“As much talk as there has been about him, he wants to go and play football, so if a new offer comes in that works for him I’m sure he’ll take it.

“I still expect him to leave before the deadline and I believe United do as well.”

Sancho is not the only player being pushed out of the exit door at Old Trafford, with Ruben Amorim also looking to move Rasmus Hojlund on before the deadline.

Brown told Football Insider on 19 August that Amorim has told Hojlund he can leave after he was not included in the squad for their opening-day defeat against Arsenal.

AC Milan are believed to be the front-runners for his signature, although he had recently confessed his desire to stay and fight for his place at Old Trafford.

However, in similar vein to that of Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho, Amorim has informed Hojlund he will have to either leave or not play.
