Andre Onana has no future at Man United and fresh offers will be entertained in the January transfer window, according to their former chief scout.
Mick Brown, who worked at Old Trafford for over a decade during the club’s most successful period and remains very well-connected there, exclusively told Football Insider that the 29-year-old, a regular starter last season, has been told he is not part of their plans.
Ruben Amorim has made his views towards Onana clear, brutally dropping him from the first three league games of the season before signing Senne Lammens.
Football Insider revealed on 3 September that Onana could move to the Saudi Pro League where the transfer window does not close until 23 September.
However, while United continue to work on his exit, there has been little interest in the goalkeeper’s signature so far and they may have to wait until January.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 26 August that Onana’s asking price is deterring interested clubs, with United demanding around £45million for his sale.

Brown previously told Football Insider that United were working to sell Onana in the closing stages of the transfer window, but had struggled to drum up interest.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment and also worked for the likes of Tottenham, Aston Villa and West Ham, insisted that work behind the scenes will now focus on finding a buyer for the goalkeeper.
“They still want to sell Onana if they can,” he told Football Insider.
“He has no future at Man United, they’ve made that clear and the manager has made it clear by dropping him from his starting XI in the Premier League.
“Then they’ve gone and signed this new goalkeeper which should allow them to move him on.

“I think they’ll be working towards the January transfer window and trying to find a buyer.
“These things can come up, you get half way through the season and somebody realises they need a new goalkeeper or somebody gets an injury, then he can move.
“Onana has made far too many mistakes during his time at United, and they don’t trust him any more.
“I’m surprised they were unable to move him on during the summer but the interest hasn’t been there, nobody has come forward for him.
“But now they’re hoping Lammens can come in and be the right man for the job.”
Onana is not the only player who was widely expected to leave Old Trafford this summer, with Jadon Sancho finally making his loan move to Aston Villa.
Brown told Football Insider on 2 September that Man United chiefs were “delighted” with Sancho’s exit, after Villa agreed to pay 80 per cent of his wage packet.

A number of clubs across Europe had been in contact with the England international’s agent but his wages were putting them off of making officials moves.
However, Football Insider exclusively revealed that Man United had slashed Sancho’s asking price alongside Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund to force through moves.
