Harry Maguire could quit Man United at the end of the season after entering the final year of his current contract, according to their former chief scout.
Mick Brown, who worked at Old Trafford for over a decade during the club’s most successful period and remains very well-connected there, exclusively told Football Insider that Ruben Amorim is pushing the 32-year-old out with his tactics.
Man United dismissed enquiries about Maguire during the summer transfer window as he remained a key part of the manager’s plans for the season.
However, he has yet to start a Premier League game this season despite coming off the bench three times in an attempt for Amorim to turn results around.
As a result, Brown told Football Insider on 9 September that Maguire could be tempted to leave Man United with Saudi Pro League clubs keeping tabs on his situation.

Brown told Football Insider in May that Man United plan to offer Maguire a new contract as they are keen to keep him beyond the expiry of his current deal.
However, the former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment and also worked for the likes of Tottenham, Aston Villa and West Ham, insisted the centre-back is still unsure about his long-term future.

“If he’s not starting games regularly, Maguire is going to look at his options,” he told Football Insider.
“So far this season, he’s not been playing regularly, and Amorim brings him on after 60 minutes almost as an acceptance that what he’s been doing isn’t working.
“He wants to solidify his back line, so he brings on Maguire, or he’s chasing a game and bring him on to go and make a difference up front.
“That’s not what you should be asking of your centre-half.
If Amorim feels he can make the difference, then you have to question why he’s not playing from the start.

“And that’s exactly what Maguire will be thinking, because the way he’s being used at the moment is only pushing him out, he’s not going to want to stick around in that role.
“When his contract comes to and end next year, he’ll be free to explore his options and perhaps move to a club who value him a bit more than he is at United.
“If the manager isn’t going to use him in any serious capacity, why would he stay?”
Amorim’s use of Maguire so far this season has raised major questions about his tactical setup, which has also come under fire due to his refusal to adapt.
Maguire is not the only Man United player who feels he is being pushed out, as speculation continues to surround the future of Kobbie Mainoo.
Mainoo asked to leave Man United on loan during the summer window as a result of his lack of playing time, but his move away was blocked by the United hierarchy.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider that Mainoo could push to leave Man United with his reduced role seen as a “big concern”.

Mainoo and Maguire have now joined a long list of players who fell out of favour under Amorim and were forced out, including Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho.
Meanwhile, Brown told Football Insider on 19 August that Rasmus Hojlund was forced out by Amorim despite his intentions to stay at the clubs.
