West Ham are unlikely to pull the trigger on Graham Potter in the coming days despite the growing pressure on his position at the London Stadium.
Mick Brown, who also worked as the chief scout at Man United and Sunderland and remains very well-connected at his former clubs, exclusively told Football Insider that pressure is building on Potter following a dismal start to the new season.
However, the Hammers are planning to back the boss with new signings before the end of the window in a bid to turn around the boss’ fortunes.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 26 August that West Ham are plotting a three-man signing spree before the window closes on 1 September.
A 3-0 defeat to Sunderland was followed by a 5-1 defeat to Chelsea, but the Hammers board have publicly backed the boss and intend to support him.

Brown told Football Insider on 18 August that Potter is facing huge pressure following a “disastrous” start to the season with pressure always building.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience working closely with elite-level managers including the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson, Ron Atkinson and David Moyes, insisted that there are no plans to part ways with the boss as things stand.
“I wouldn’t expect Potter to be sacked quite yet,” he told Football Insider.
“They want to bring in a few more players before the transfer deadline, hopefully to improve the squad and turn around their fortunes.
“He wants to be backed and I hear they’re going to be prepared to do it.
“But to be honest, I wouldn’t have much faith in the transfer team there to do good business.
“The recruitment there, let’s be fair, has been scandalous for a while now.

“It was a disaster under Tim Steidten, with different managers feeling the effects of the players they brought in while he was in charge.
“So you can’t put the blame entirely on Potter, there are a lot of people at fault.
“There are areas of the team that need serious improvement, so maybe if they can address those, he might be able to turn things around.
“Results need to change quickly, and if the manager is backed that will be more likely, but if things don’t change then it might even get worse.
“That goes for Potter and for the club as a whole.”
One player who has been named as a potential target for the Hammers in the closing stages of the transfer window is Chelsea forward Raheem Sterling.
Football Insider revealed on 25 August that West Ham are exploring a deal for Sterling and could agree a potential loan deal, with a permanent move considered unlikely.

The winger spent last season on loan at Arsenal and could now be set for another short-term move given the money involved in a permanent deal.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 23 August that Chelsea are struggling to sell Sterling as clubs have been put off by his “huge” wage packet.
