The late change to the January fixtures should not cause any “huge” problems for Liverpool.

“Television schedule changes, compared to what’s happened over the last couple of years is small fry.” In other news, Liverpool have been hit by an £89million blow after a radical deal has been agreed.

That is the view of medical expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in injury and data analysis, speaking exclusively to Football Insider.

“We’ve seen across the board that the management of players has been a lot better around late schedule changes, cancellations and disruption generally.

“In terms of the actual management of players, this will not have huge implications.

“They’ve probably got bigger fish to fry in terms of when their players come back from the World Cup and how they are managing those players.

“Logistically, internally, they will have quite a good understanding of match day scenarios and the planning of pre- and post-match recovery,” Dinnery told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
