Today’s game against West Ham United at the London Stadium seems to have indicated the end of Liverpool’s hopes to winning the English Premier League.

Despite still being a mathematical possibility, the facts that Manchester City and Arsenal have games in hand mean that it’s highly unlikely that Liverpool will be able to keep up with their rivals.

That’s because a current Feyenoord defender shared an image on his Instagram story showing that he was in attendance to watch Liverpool play West Ham this afternoon.

Lutsharel Geertruida is a defender playing for Feyenoord right now and snapped an image in the fans and tagged that he was at the London Stadium this afternoon.

In a day and age where footballers are more aware than ever about how speculation has gather from nothing, it’s a bit shocking to see a player share such an image so publicly.

Especially considering that he will know that his current manager is moving to Liverpool.

With Liverpool needing defenders as we expect Joel Matip will be leaving in the summer and the club already linked to the likes of Willian Pacho, it’s safe to assume that defenders might be asking whether they will get a call to join The Reds next season?

Or is he just attending a game in the English Premier League like the other fans?

Either way, tongues will be wagging to see if there’s anything more to the Instagram story.
