Aston Villa supporters have made their feelings clear on whether they want Matty Cash to stay or leave this summer amid a new development around his future at the club.
Cash has been a regular at right-back for Villa since he joined the club from Nottingham Forest in September 2020 for £14million [BBC].
He has featured over 180 times for the club since the move, with a number of caps for Poland too, after he made his international debut in 2021.
Football Insider revealed in June that Villa are willing to sell Cash this summer, but his £100,000-a-week wages were proving a stumbling block in negotiations amid interest from clubs in the Premier League and abroad.
Former scout Mick Brown also told Football Insider last month that Unai Emery has given the green light for Cash to depart, and now a new revelation has emerged on his potential whereabouts this summer.

Cash struggled against Newcastle in Villa’s opening game of the new season on Saturday (16 August), but Emery has had to stick by him up to now due to a lack of other senior right-backs in his squad.
With the club happy to sell him, The Athletic’s Aston Villa writer, Jacob Tanswell, has revealed via X (20 August) that Cash’s former club Nottingham Forest are exploring a deal to re-sign him before the window closes.

Cash has impressed for Villa at times over the years, but his performances over the last 18 months have dropped off to be largely inconsistent.
Their fans are clearly happy that he could be set to leave the club soon, with one replying to Tanswell’s post by asking: “Is it Christmas [?]” while another added: “Please get rid, this would improve us.”
