Ruben Amorim is edging closer to being sacked by Manchester United after their woeful start to the Premier League season.

Manchester United were beaten 3-0 by Manchester City on Sunday, 14 September, marking their worst start to a top-flight campaign for 33 years.

Currently, Man United’s hierarchy still have faith in Amorim, but more humiliation in the coming weeks will surely spell the end of his tenure at Old Trafford.

The 40-year-old has the worst win percentage of any United manager since Sir Alex Ferguson, and it isn’t just on the pitch where his failures are being highlighted.

But the Premier League giants also missed out on their fair share of talent, notably one of Amorim’s top targets, Geovany Quenda.

Shortly after finalising a transfer to Chelsea, it was revealed why Quenda rejected Manchester United, and it was because he wanted to play as a winger instead of a wing-back, something Amorim’s system doesn’t accommodate.

Considering the incredible talent he has shown on the big stage, Amorim will surely regret not being flexible with his formation, as it’s causing even more pain.
