Liverpool took no time to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, with Jeremie Frimpong the first arrival of this summer’s transfer window.

The Reds’ business so far has been nothing short of spectacular and despite spending big on Florian Wirtz, other deals look just as exciting.

Signing Jeremie Frimpong for just £30m could be one of the best pieces of business from any club so far and he already looks like he will fit in well with the side.

As one of the most exciting attacking full-backs in the world, Liverpool have replaced well and appear to be in good stead for the future, especially as Frimpong is just 24 years old.

Keeping transfers hidden nowadays is one of the hardest things to do with social media and Frimpong’s move to Anfield was one of the worst-kept secrets in football.

However, the right-back still managed to do just that with his Liverpool-supporting dad, with his story incredibly heart-warming and proving just what football is all about.

“But all the family members were less surprising.

So, it got too much when Fabrizio [Romano] started talking, my dad’s not stupid, he was like ‘hey Jeremie, is it true?’ And I said, ‘alright dad’.

“I had to travel and my dad was in my house and he was asking too many questions.

So then obviously I was like ‘dad I’m going to Liverpool to do my medical.’ And he was like ‘no, really?!’ and I was like ‘yeah I’m going to go and play for your team’ and he was like ‘no way!’ But it was a great reaction.”

His dad will certainly be proud that his son will be donning the shirt of the club he has supported for so many years, and Frimpong will be desperate to make him even prouder by excelling at Anfield.

Winning trophies is the way to make a name for yourself at a club and be adored by the fanbase, with it meaning more when you win something with Liverpool.

The Reds are building a super team and trophies are going from a desire to more of a necessity based on expectations, although Frimpong seems rather confident that he will win at least a few during his time with the Reds.
