Alexander Isak is running out of options to leave Newcastle this summer as the striker pushes for an exit.
The Sweden international wants to quit St.
James’ Park this summer, despite the club qualifying for the Champions League, and Liverpool are working behind the scenes on a club-record deal.
The Toon have repeatedly missed out on their main transfer targets, and Eddie Howe is under fire, sources have told Football Insider exclusively.
The Swede has made his intentions clear that he wants out of St James’ Park with the number 14 training away from the team on his own at former club Real Sociedad.
Newcastle refuse to deny that Isak has gone AWOL from training after he returned to his old club while his current teammates are on tour in the Far East.

The Magpies’ failure to strengthen around their star man will undoubtedly be a source of frustration, coupled with Newcastle’s decision not to extend Isak’s contract last summer.

Liverpool were the main suitors for the ex-Real Sociedad man, but they have signed Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt, casting doubt on whether they will make a move for the Swede.
This article contains exclusive comment from Dan Plumley, a football finance expert and senior lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University.
The finance expert had previously explained to Football Insider why Isak’s move to Liverpool hit a stumbling block, after they prioritised signing Ekitike.
There are very few other teams in world football capable of paying the lofty price tag Newcastle have placed on their striker.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Plumley said: “Where else does he go in England?
It was all about Liverpool.
It’s a question of if it’s not Liverpool, where else does he go?
“I think that’s the question that we don’t know at the minute because we’ve only seen the Liverpool interest.”
Before his move to Anfield, Newcastle were keen on bringing Ekitike to Tyneside to pair with Isak.
The former Frankfurt man is best known as a striker, but his well-rounded skill set allows him to be effective in a number of roles.
After missing out on Ekitike, Newcastle have now turned their attention to Stuttgart star Nick Woltemade.
The German giant is a dribbling maestro and he enjoyed an astonishing breakout season for his side in the Bundesliga, before tearing up the European Under-21 championships this summer.
However, Newcastle will have to fend off the likes of Bayern Munich and Man United to secure Woltemade’s signature.
