Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has suggested that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be utilised as a striker this season on LFCTV.

Oxlade-Chamberlain played as Liverpool’s number nine last night in their opening pre-season friendly match of the season.

In that sense he could actually work as an option to replace Roberto Firmino.

The Reds drew 1-1 with Stuttgart, with Oxlade-Chamberlain actually claiming an assist in the contest.

And Klopp feels that using Oxlade-Chamberlain as a forward could be an option going into the new campaign.

But Liverpool fans would surely rather the club landing a real goal-getter in the summer transfer window, over giving Oxlade-Chamberlain a run in the team out of position.

The £35 million man (BBC) enjoyed dropping deep and linking the play, rather than spinning in behind.
