One of Jurgen Klopp’s biggest strengths during his time as Liverpool manager is how he has developed players and taken them to the next level.
From big-money stars purchased via the transfer market, bargain buys or if they are coming through the academy.
Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold are just some of the players who can proudly say that they have transformed into world-class stars.
All three played a key role in Liverpool winning every trophy possible under Klopp’s stewardship, including the Premier League title after a three-decade wait.
But now it’s time for the new manager to come in – and whether it’s Arne Slot or somebody else – they will have a very difficult job on their hands.
It seems as though Klopp is also looking forward to that new face entering Anfield and working with Alexander-Arnold, as he told Liverpool’s website.
The German rightfully pointed out that the 25-year-old has ‘never’ worked with a different manager in the professional game – and how all of that is about to change.
Fantastic player from the first day, outstanding talent turned into an outstanding, world-class football player.
“It’s pretty rare that, as a manager as well, you are part of such a journey for such a long time.
Trent never had a different manager in professional football so it will be good for him to get new influences in the future, that’s definitely clear.
When you see him now playing you just see what a good player he is, it’s crazy.
“There’s nothing bad to say about Trent and his development, he is one of these stories that not a lot of clubs can really write.
That’s really nice for a boy from West Derby, it’s probably the best you can achieve in life.”

When the new manager arrives, you could argue that Alexander-Arnold will be one of the more exciting players to watch out for.
How will the new manager use his attacking quality?
