Liverpool have made some big moves already this summer but they are not finished just yet.
The Reds have spent just under £200m so far in the transfer window but that is expected to significantly increase in the coming weeks.
They still believe they are three positions short of completing their business, with Liverpool keen to bring in a centre-back, striker and a new winger.
The latter is a position towards the top of the agenda and will perhaps be moved to the top if Luis Diaz departs, with many replacements already being linked.
Real Madrid’s Rodrygo is one of these players and after barely featuring for Xabi Alonso’s side at the Club World Cup, many have tipped him to depart.
He would certainly be a big coup as many clubs would be after him, but Liverpool have just been told what their chances are of signing him and it might be good news.

Usually the shoe is on the other foot and it is Real Madrid trying to prise a Liverpool player away to join them, so it might be a nice change for fans to see it the other way around for once.
Liverpool wanted Rodrygo before he joined Madrid and were close to signing him, but the Brazilian rejected a move and opted for the Spanish capital instead.

However, ESPN Brasil have not only confirmed that the Reds are interested, but Diario AS journalist Eduardo Burgos has revealed what Liverpool’s chances of signing him actually are, and it suggests they are in pole position.
“It’s genuine.
He’s open to a move,” Burgos told Redmen TV 2.

“He always liked the Premier League.
He appreciated the gesture but in the end his preference was to stay in Madrid.
“His preference has now changed and now he’s hoping to leave… I think he will leave because he wants to be the star of the team, and [at Real Madrid] it will be very, very difficult, almost impossible.
He’s open to a move and I think Liverpool may make a move.”
Around €100m (£87m) is the fee Madrid are rumoured to be holding out for, a similar price to what the Reds want for Diaz.
Liverpool are certainly willing to spend a lot of money this summer but they clearly think their targets are worthwhile, and Rodrygo definitely would be.
The Brazilian had one of his worst goalscoring seasons in a Madrid shirt, but still managed as many goal involvements as Diaz in one of his best seasons at Liverpool.

However, Rodrygo is four years Diaz’s junior, making this investment a smart one long term as Arne Slot aims to build something of a super team.
At just 24, Rodrygo has plenty of experience at the top level and he appears ready for the next step in his career and he could certainly thrive at Anfield if he makes the switch.
