The Premier League champions kicked off the defence of their crown on Friday night as Bournemouth visited Anfield.

The two teams battled it out with Liverpool eventually grabbing all three points in a fiery 4-2 win.

Four new signings made their Premier League debuts in that game as Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Hugo Ekitike and Milos Kerkez all graced the division in the colours of Liverpool for the first time.

Four debuts on the same day represents the significant summer of change that Liverpool are currently undergoing.

Eight players have been signed and seven have left as Arne Slot reshapes his squad.

Talks opened last week with Marc Guehi for a potential ninth incoming of the summer window and let’s not forget the potential British record move for Alexander Isak.

As well as the incomings, there have been some significant outgoings with the likes of key first team players Trent Alexander-Arnold and Luis Diaz departing the club.

On top of that, Darwin Nunez, Jarell Quansah, Caoimhin Kelleher, Tyler Morton and Nathaniel Phillips have also all sought a new adventure this summer.

Ben Doak is up next after Bournemouth agreed a £25m fee to sign him.

With such significant change comes a tough integration process, and Alisson Becker admits that it will hard for Liverpool to adapt quickly.

“I think it’s hard,” Alisson told NBC following Liverpool’s opening day win against Bournemouth.

“Not many people talk about the changes we had in the team.”

“Everybody’s said how good our team is becoming with new players coming in, but nobody talks about the challenge that this is.

It is a big challenge.”

“Last season we had the challenge of changing the manager, but you keep the players so you know each other, you just have to keep the same way of playing.”

“The manager was smart in the way he did that and also implementing new things, it was easy for us to understand.”

“But having new players to come in and changing a lot.

But everybody did amazingly well.”

“I think for them to play, for Jeremie, for Flo and for Hugo, playing for the first time in the Premier League, you have the physicality that’s a little bit different, the intensity.”

“But they showed up so well tody, they played amazingly well?

Of course with out help, but they showed that their qualities are at the standard of Liverpool FC.”

Liverpool return to Premier League action when they visit Newcastle United at St

James Park on August 25th.

The new signings will be looking to continue their integration into the team with solid performances against tough opposition.
