The transfer saga around the Sweden international has gone on for far too long this summer, with a deal for his Liverpool move finally on the cusp of completion.
There have been varying reports about the fee that the Reds are paying, but a figure between £125million-£130million is the most likely amount that Liverpool have spent.

Although a fee in this region will mean that the Anfield outfit have broken the British transfer record, for a player of Isak’s calibre, it feels like money well spent.
Speaking after Liverpool beat Arsenal 1-0 on Sunday evening, Rio Ferdinand gave his thoughts on what Liverpool signing Isak and Marc Guehi this summer would mean for the rest of the Premier League.

“I’ll tell you what yeah, if Liverpool get Isak and Guehi, it’s over, they could win the lot,” he said on his YouTube channel.
“Champions League, everything, them two players will be at Liverpool before this transfer window is finished as well.”
Later in the show, Ferdinand further added to his opinion on Isak moving to Liverpool: “Isak, imagine him in that team.
“I mean, Ekitike has done well his first three games I think he’s played, everything that they would have wanted, they have seen from him so far.
“Even today, they had a goal disallowed and he was in the thick of it, he was offside but he’s there, he’s there or thereabouts, he’s going to score goals.
“But Isak in there, that cast, that Premier League know-how, that bit more experience, someone who can score goals out of nothing…£130million they’re saying, if Wirtz is worth £120million then Isak, definitely, £130million [would be] well spent.”
With the number of world-class players that Liverpool have brought in this summer, it would be a massive failure if they didn’t win at least one of the Premier League or Champions League.
Players such as Florian Wirtz finally seem to be getting into their groove, and, with the likelihood of Isak joining Liverpool now almost a guarantee, they’ll have one of the best attacking lines in the world.
Now, if they don’t win at least one of the Premier League or the Champions League, questions will have to be asked.
