Chelsea fans were in unison in their reaction to defender Wesley Fofana following a cryptic development on social media.

The French centre-back has faced a difficult period at Chelsea ever since his £70 million move from Leicester in 2022.

Last season, Fofana was largely sidelined due to recurring injuries, undergoing surgery and missing 36 matches across all competitions.

His limited game time has frustrated both fans and the club and it seems as if patience has worn this as Football Insider revealed Chelsea are now open to offers for Fofana this summer, though no concrete bids have yet been submitted.

Amid ongoing speculation about his future, the defender made a move on social media that has sparked rage among supporters, calling for his sale.

Chelsea fans were quick to notice Fofana’s latest development on Instagram, after the defender removed all images associated with the club from his personal page.

This isn’t the first time he has sparked speculation online, as Fofana has continued to post cryptic messages despite not being involved with the squad for the past few months.

Since arriving in 2022, he has made just 34 appearances across all competitions, with Enzo Maresca opting to trust players such as Trevoh Chalobah, Tosin Adarabioyo, and even youngster Josh Acheampong instead.

Football Insider reported that Chelsea are prioritising defensive reinforcements this transfer window, and with Jorrel Hato already signed as a versatile defender, this has left Fofana further down the pecking order.
