Brentford’s squad have taken a massive hit this summer and the club will struggle to avoid being drawn into a relegation battle.
That is the verdict of former Southampton and England star Matt Le Tissier, who told Football Insider exclusively that the Bees are likely to struggle this season.
Since their Premier League arrival in 2021, Brentford have gotten used to losing their big stars.

But Brentford will have to cope with the loss of the manager who guided them from Championship irrelevancy to England’s top-flight.

Thomas Frank’s move to Tottenham was not a huge surprise, as the Danish manager had been linked with a move to North London for much of last season.

Keith Andrews was chosen as Frank’s successor, and the combination of an unproven manager alongside the loss of several key players has Le Tissier worrying for the Bees.
The Premier League legend previously told Football Insider he expects Burnley and Sunderland to be relegated next season, and has tipped Brentford as a surprise choice to join them.
Le Tissier told Football Insider exclusively: “I’ve got a sneaking feeling, after the players that they’ve sold this season, that Brentford might be one of the ones that could struggle a little bit this year.
Whilst the news of the outgoing stars has dominated, the Bees have been working hard to improve their squad this summer.
Jordan Henderson joined on a free transfer from Ajax, whilst Antoni Milambo has been signed from Feyenoord.

And with plenty of cash to spend and a void on the right wing, the next order of business is finding a replacement for Mbeumo.
Pete O’Rourke told Football Insider exclusively that Brentford are accelerating a move for Dango Ouattara.
Bournemouth would prefer to keep the winger, but would be open to a sale if the price is right.
