The fact that he’s English also plays into his favour as every club seems to be on the lookout for the next Declan Rice.

And, while speaking via his personal YouTube channel, journalist Lewis Steele gave his thoughts on whether Liverpool could make a move for the Englishman this summer.

“I love Adam Wharton, he’s like a Spanish midfielder who happens to be English.

Liverpool have scouted him in the past, Liverpool have liked him in the past,” he said.

“Does that mean a deal will be done this summer?

The addition of Wharton would allow Gravenberch and the Englishman to interchange with one another and allow both players to keep fresh for the long and gruelling season.
