As well as being one of the most recognisable faces in the UK music scene, rapper Stormzy is also a big football fan.
Famously a supporter of Liverpool’s biggest rivals Manchester United though, the 30-year-old does not hold much love for the Reds.
Nevertheless, Stormzy obviously knows a good footballer when he sees one, having been speaking about Trent Alexander-Arnold in a recent attempt at the crossbar challenge.
Alexander-Arnold went viral in 2022 for a brilliant, one-time effort at the challenge in a video with YouTube channel Beta Squad.
And now attempting his own version of it, Stormzy has called out Liverpool’s No.66.

As one of the purest strikers of a football of the past few decades, few can match Alexander-Arnold when it comes to pinging balls at targets.
Whether it’s stunning long-range passes to pick out teammates or exquisite free-kicks to find the top corner, Trent can do it all.

So, when Stormzy rocked up with a crossbar challenge effort in a series of videos posted by GRM Daily on X, it was always going to be difficult to match the 25-year-old.
Nevertheless, the rapper did his best.
“Man’s seen that clip of Trent with Beta Squad, where he just says ‘first time’… This is that, watch this,” says Stormzy, before launching a terrible, lofted effort miles past the goal.
Not to be deterred, he came back with another go, calling out Alexander-Arnold a second time.
“I’ve seen that clip Trent, watch this!” says Stormzy.
Finally, with a point to prove, Stormzy has one last go at emulating the Liverpool right-back.
The rapper should possibly stick to his day job.
As of yet, Alexander-Arnold has not responded to Stormzy, at least not publicly.
