Everton could have multiple representatives in England’s 2026 World Cup squad if Jack Grealish’s early-season form continues.
England are firmly on course to qualify for next summer’s tournament following a dominant 5-0 victory over Serbia on Tuesday, which saw forwards Morgan Rogers and Noni Madueke both play starring roles.
Thomas Tuchel‘s side put in their best display under the German so far without the likes of Bukayo Saka, Cole Palmer, Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden, with Grealish also a notable absentee from the squad.
Grealish’s form since joining Everton on loan from Man City has resulted in calls for him to return to the England setup, and his display for Everton against Wolves was seen as a “rebuke” to Tuchel’s snub.

Grealish is vying for a hugely competitive position in England’s squad with Rogers, Madueke, Anthony Gordon, Eberechi Eze and Marcus Rashford all called up by Tuchel as potential options on the left flank.
Rogers’ performance was labelled as Paul Gascoigne-esque by Roy Keane after he teed up Madueke’s first international goal, as England recorded their biggest victory under Tuchel and kept a clean sheet.
Jordan Pickford was rarely tested at the other end as Harry Kane, Madueke, Ezri Konsa, Marc Guehi and Rashford all four the net, and England’s number one posted on Instagram at full-time on Tuesday.

Pickford’s message to England fans said; “Great night & another clean sheet!
Away support was unreal as always”, as his Toffees team-mate Grealish responded with two ‘applause’ emojis.

Football Insider Verdict
England’s resounding victory coming with so many star players out of the side will only push Grealish further down the pecking order, as Rogers and Madueke established themselves as starting options.
Grealish has been backed to replace Rashford in the squad if the on-loan Barcelona winger’s form drops off this season, but a goal from the penalty spot to make it 5-0 will also boost Rashford‘s own chances.
Everton fans have been delighted after Grealish hit the ground running straight away at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but there’s still a long way to go before he’s done enough to earn a recall into a squad full to the brim with attacking talent.
