Jack Grealish is unlikely to be the only departure over the coming weeks as Man City prepare for the new season.

Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker sealed permanent moves away from the Etihad Stadium, with the likes of Divin Mubama, Joel Ndala, and Jahmai Simpson-Pusey seeking valuable minutes elsewhere.

Pep Guardiola has already threatened to quit over the size of his squad heading into the 2025/26 campaign, with Stefan Ortega, Kalvin Phillips, and James McAtee heading for the exit doors.

While further business is to be expected, especially after big-money moves for James Trafford, Sverre Halseth Nypan, Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki, and Rayan Ait-Nouri, there has been limited movement.

Therefore, Football Insider has taken a look at some of the potential upcoming exits at the Etihad.

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein (6 August), Everton have opened talks to sign Jack Grealish, hoping to sign the 29-year-old on a season-long loan, though a move is complicated.

Discussions are ongoing surrounding the situation, though with West Ham and Tottenham also interested, it has become abundantly clear that the England international has no future under Guardiola.

James McAtee appears to be one of the most sought-after youngsters in the Premier League, being linked with Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, Spurs, West Ham, and Leeds United.

Clubs from across Europe are also keeping tabs on the 22-year-old, and with just three starts in the league last season, it is no surprise to see the England Under-21s international linked with a move away.

Football Insider understands that Man City have set the benchmark with Cole Palmer’s Chelsea move when it comes to selling their talented gem, and a race is likely to appear before the window closes.

Despite playing a key role last season and at the Club World Cup, Ilkay Gundogan’s future remains up in the air at Man City after being the subject of a bid from Turkish giants Galatasaray.

The German has a year remaining on his contract, having re-signed from Barcelona last summer, but with a multitude of midfield options at the Etihad, his abilities appear surplus to requirements ahead of next term.

Much like Gundogan, Ederson is being heavily linked with a move to Turkey, possibly joining Ortega out of the exit doors following the £27million move for James Trafford from Burnley [BBC Sport].

The Brazilian has been a constant figure in the starting lineup during his eight years at the club, but with fresh blood being brought in, he is unlikely to want to sit on the bench for the majority of the campaign.

A move away makes sense for all parties, with rumours and reports suggesting that deals are on the table for the 31-year-old, and there is still plenty of time to get a deal done.

Only arriving in England this summer after signing for the Citizens during the winter window, being loaned back to River Plate for the remainder of the 2024/25 season, Claudio Echeverri could already be on the move.

According to the Daily Mail (5 August), AS Roma are pushing to sign the 19-year-old talent, who took the supporters by storm during his short cameo during the Club World Cup in America.

Many at the Etihad have been left stunned by the news, having impressed so much in his limited minutes so far, but with a similar reason to Gundogan, his minutes could be limited due to a stacked midfield.

Other members of the squad are likely to follow, including new defender Vitor Reis, Kalvin Phillips, and Issa Kabore, and the Citizens need to speed up their business ahead of the 1 September deadline.
