Aston Villa endured a challenging summer transfer window, narrowly missing out on Champions League qualification that has led to financial pressures behind the scenes.

Football Insider has revealed Aston Villa may be forced to offload key players to balance the books, and Martinez is one of the names repeatedly linked with a potential exit.

Now, following Villa’s most recent pre-season fixture, the goalkeeper addressed supporters with a brief message online, offering an insight into his mindset as uncertainty around his future continues.

With rumours continuing to swirl around his future, Martinez was part of Aston Villa’s pre-season tour in the United States.

The goalkeeper shared a series of photos from the trip on Instagram, simply captioned with a glove emoji.

The post quickly picked up attention, with teammates Jacob Ramsey and Youri Tielemans, along with former teammate Marco Asensio, among those who liked it.

Martinez appeared to wave goodbye to Aston Villa fans during the final home game of last season, prompting speculation over his future, although no substantial bid has yet been submitted for the 2022 World Cup winner.

As reported by Football Insider, Martinez changed agents earlier this summer to Jorge Mendes, in a move some interpreted as a signal of a possible summer departure.

Should he leave, Emery’s side will likely need to reinvest in the position, with summer signing Marco Bizot expected to serve as a back-up rather than first-choice between the sticks.

While Martinez continues to be linked with a move away, another Villa talent previously tipped for an exit now looks set to stay.

Football Insider revealed that Ramsey is increasingly likely to remain at Villa Park beyond the end of the window, with the club pricing out potential suitors.

Nottingham Forest have shown interest, but Aston Villa are demanding up to £50 million to part ways with Ramsey.

The midfielder is believed to be keen on securing more consistent first-team minutes after starting 19 games last season but Emery’s side appear determined to hold on to the academy graduate rather than cash in on him.
