Lucas Digne came off the substitutes’ bench to help Aston Villa to their 1-0 win over Bologna in the Europa League.

On 25 September, Villa beat Bologna by one goal to ensure that their European campaign got off to a winning start.

In their last Premier League game, Aston Villa were held to a 1-1 draw with Sunderland, despite Reinildo’s first-half red card for the Black Cats.

Therefore, Emery’s side must ensure that they get the better of Fulham on Sunday, 28 September.

For now, though, Villa can celebrate their victory over Bologna, before facing Feyenoord in their next Europa League game.

Keep going.”

The 32-year-old’s message attracted a like from Jacob Ramsey, despite the midfielder’s summer switch from Aston Villa to Newcastle United.

Although his side yielded a win from their Europa League opener, Emery endured a difficult summer transfer window, as Ramsey’s move to Newcastle angered Villa players.

Meanwhile, the West Midlands outfit have failed to win in five attempts in the Premier League, managing just one goal in the process.

Furthermore, their result against Bologna at Villa Park could have gone differently, with striker Santiago Castro hitting the crossbar for the visitors.

Emery’s side, therefore, still have a major point to prove in their Premier League clash with Fulham on Sunday, 28 September.

The Craven Cottage outfit are in strong form, having earned four wins in their last five games across all competitions, including a 3-1 triumph in the top flight over West London rivals Brentford.

Villa must utilise the confidence from their win over Bologna to inspire them to a better performance that can ensure they defeat Marco Silva’s men.
