Tottenham midfielder James Maddison posted on social media following the side’s Champions League victory amid the looming threat of an FA charge.
Tottenham returned to the Champions League with a win over Villarreal thanks to an own goal from goalkeeper Luiz Junior.
This comes days after Tottenham thrashed West Ham in the latest Premier League fixture with a 3-0 win, continuing Thomas Frank’s impressive start.
One player that hasn’t featured since the start of the season is Maddison, who suffered an ACL injury back in pre-season.
The midfielder has continued to show support to the side despite being injured, but Maddison lashed out at the officials during their win over West Ham.
Former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett told Tottenham News that he expects the Englishman to be “charged” and that the FA are “monitoring comments” he made.
Despite that, Maddison posted on social media following the latest victory from Spurs in their return to the Champions League.

Despite a possible charge from the FA for his previous comments on social media, the midfielder was in a more positive mood in his latest message.
He posted a picture from the stands of the Tottenham tifo ahead of their fixture against Villarreal with a simple caption saying: “Special”.

The 28-year-old looks set to miss the majority of the campaign with an ACL injury, but continues to play a part in the squad by showing support.
Injuries have been a recurring theme as Maddison also missed the Europa League final against Man United at the end of last season.
He played a key role for Tottenham in the 2024-25 season, despite reports of a fallout with Ange Postecoglou.
He contributed with 23 goals and assists, but the club have adapted well without the playmaker.

While Maddison has missed the start of the season due to injury, Yves Bissouma has been frozen out for disciplinary reasons and could be set for a move.
Football Insider revealed West Ham and Everton are both likely to reignite their interest in Bissouma following his latest axe from the squad.
The Mali international rejected the chance to move to Galatasaray as he wants to remain in the Premier League and now must wait until the January window for a move.
