Tottenham star James Maddison dedicated a heartfelt message to Heung-Min Son following a major announcement from the club.

Tottenham are undergoing a summer of significant change, with Thomas Frank now at the helm after replacing Ange Postecoglou.

While Spurs have already secured the signings of Mohamed Kudus and Mathys Tel on permanent deals, they are now preparing for one of the most emotional exits in recent club history.

On 3 August, Son confirmed he will leave Tottenham this summer, announcing the decision during a pre-match press conference while on pre-season duty.

The news marks the end of an iconic decade in North London for the South Korean forward.

A wave of tributes from teammates quickly followed across social media, with Maddison becoming the latest player to pay his respects and share his admiration for the forward.

Maddison shared a video montage of moments with Son over the years in a touching tribute to the departing Spurs forward.

He captioned the post: “10 years ago you arrived here as a kid.

Love you always brother.”

The post received a wave of support across the Premier League, with the likes of Manchester City’s Jack Grealish, Arsenal’s Declan Rice, and Son himself all liking the post.

Tottenham fans had previously urged the club to part ways with Son amid reports that MLS side LAFC were advancing in negotiations, and it now seems those calls have been answered, with a deal understood to be in place.

The South Korean international joined Spurs from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015 and went on to cement his legacy as one of the club’s all-time greats, registering 173 goals and 101 assists in 454 appearances.

His final season in North London will be remembered fondly, having lifted the Europa League trophy following Tottenham’s historic win over Manchester United, their first major trophy in 17 years.

While Maddison was one of many to say farewell to Son, his own future at the club has been thrown into uncertainty after picking up an injury during pre-season.

Maddison was stretchered off during Tottenham’s friendly against Newcastle, dealing a blow to Frank’s preparations for the new campaign.

Spurs could now reignite their interest in Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott, who was previously linked earlier in the window and is yet to make a final decision on his future.

An attacking midfielder had already been a priority for Frank, and Maddison’s latest injury may now fast-track the club’s efforts to strengthen in that area.
