Liverpool veteran James Milner has been presented with a personalised Nike boot to mark his achievement of reaching 500 Premier League games.

The 33-year-old midfielder celebrated the exceptional achievement in Liverpool's 4-0 win over Bournemouth last month.

Milner joined an exclusive club of only 12 other players who have managed to reach 500 Premier League matches, with names like Gareth Barry and Ryan Giggs at the top of the charts.

To celebrate Milner's stunning achievement, Nike have sent him a special white boot featuring the badges of all the teams he has represented.

The boot boasts the crests of Leeds, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Manchester City and Liverpool with the Premier League logo stitched onto the front with '500' above it. A sketch of Milner kicking the ball can also be seen on the heel.

A commemorative plaque was also included which read: 'James Milner, here's too 500 and counting... Many congratulations, Nike'.

Milner posted a picture of the boot on Instagram and declared he has plenty more miles in the tank. He wrote: 'Huge thanks to Nike for this special boot... very proud to have played 500 Premier League games wearing Nike for some great clubs... and I'm not finished yet.'

He is one of just four players in the division's history to play more than 100 games for three different clubs. Milner represented Villa, City and Liverpool in a century of games.

During his lengthy career, Milner has won two Premier League titles with City as well as the FA Cup in 2011. He was named PFA Young Player of the Year for 2010 and featured in the Team of the Year at the end of the same season at Villa Park.

He will be hoping to add a third domestic title with Jurgen Klopp this campaign as he now switches focus to Liverpool's game at Brighton on Saturday.

The Reds are four points clear at the Premier League summit but have lost both of their last two matches.

Milner is confident the last two performances will raise levels this weekend but accepted the responsibility is with the players to perform.

'We have to make sure we bounce back and look at where we can get better,' the vice-captain told the club's official website.

'You're never going to go a full season without having blips. I think at the start of this season we weren't playing our best but we were getting results.

'[It's] back-to-back defeats now, which really isn't good enough for us, but you have blips in a season. It's about how you respond.

'I think you've seen the character in the squad in the last few years, and the players we have, to know we will bounce back.

'We have to show that, though. It's easy saying it in an interview, we have to do it on the pitch at the weekend.

'The games keep coming thick and fast and hopefully we can get a few of the injured lads back as well.'
