Virgil van Dijk and Dominik Szoboszlai were among the Liverpool stars to show support to their former manager Jurgen Klopp after he broke his silence on the Reds' Premier League title triumph.

The Reds romped to the summit of domestic football with an emphatic 5-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Liverpool were able to celebrate the incredible feat in front of their supporters, something that they were deprived of when Klopp led the Reds to their maiden Premier League title in 2019-20.

Few predicted that Slot would be able to achieve the feat of winning the Premier League and many heaped pressure on the Dutchman after following in the footsteps of Klopp, after joining from Feyenoord in the summer.

Less than 24 hours after the magnificent achievement was capped at Anfield, Klopp took to social media to celebrate the Premier League triumph.

"Super grateful for the past, super, super happy about the present, extremely positive about the future," said the German.

"Congratulations - YNWA.

"Thank You Luv [red heart emoji]."

Klopp orchestrated a rapturous reception for Slot in one of his parting messages to the Liverpool fan base after his final home game against Wolves.

The 57-year-old sparked a Slot chant and after Sunday's Premier League triumph, the Dutchman returned the favour.

"Why did I do that?

Because of what he did before I even arrived here,” said Slot.

"That’s something not one manager had ever done before.

“That is what definitely helped me but apart from that he helped me even more with the team he left behind and the culture he left behind in that team.

“The quality the players have was obvious for everyone but the culture of hard work, the culture of not only the players but also the staff members, has been incredible.

"That’s one of the reasons we could achieve what we have achieved this season.

"For obvious reasons, it was a nice moment to thank him as well."

Since departing his post at Liverpool, Klopp has since moved into a head of global soccer role at Red Bull, where he oversees part of the operations surrounding their football teams.

But Klopp's adulation for the Reds hasn't waivered since leaving with Slot detailing text exchanges between the pair in the months after the former Borussia Dortmund head coach's exit.

During his unveiling at Red Bull, Klopp said: "I'm so happy they're doing well, I'm in contact with Arne [Slot] and some players texting.

"There's 0.1 per cent thinking I should still be there as they are doing so well.

"I am watching as many games as I can as it is such good football, maybe the best-balanced team in the world right now.

"I am so happy I am not in charge right now to answer these questions and from my point of view, I hope all three extend, but they did not tell me."
