Jamie Carragher admits when it comes to Trent Alexander-Arnold's Liverpool exit: 'I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed.'
The England defender, 26, announced on Monday he would be ending his 20-year association with the club this summer.
Alexander-Arnold, who has more Premier League assists than any defender in the competition's history, is expected to join Real Madrid on a free transfer when his contract ends.
Carragher spent his entire career at Anfield, making 737 appearances in all competitions for the Reds.
“If that image of the home-grown talent living the dream is an illusion, people feel let down.
“By leaving Liverpool, Alexander-Arnold is making it harder for his own club to win its 21st league title and seventh European Cup.
With Monday’s statement, the unconditional support Alexander-Arnold enjoyed from the Kop when he was fully committed to Liverpool has gone.”
